Rob Wronski is a seasoned public safety professional, a 20+ year veteran of the U.S. Navy Submarine Force, and a servant leader at heart. Across more than three decades in EMS, the fire service, and public safety leadership, he has built a reputation for showing up where it matters most: in the field, in the command center, and in the rooms where systems actually get fixed.

Over the years, Rob has held leadership roles at every level, including serving as the State EMS Bureau Chief for South Carolina, where he helped modernize the state’s EMS systems and strengthen collaboration across local, state, and federal teams. His work has touched thousands of lives, sometimes in the back of an ambulance, sometimes from a conference podium, and often by helping leaders build healthier, more people-centered organizations.

Rob also brought that same mindset to the business side of healthcare as Chief Business Officer at Best Practice Medicine, a 35 million dollar national healthcare education and staffing company. There, he helped drive more than 500 percent growth through disciplined operations, strategic partnerships, and strong business development. Under his leadership, the company expanded into new markets, scaled multiple service lines, strengthened internal systems, and earned a spot on the Inc. 5000 list in 2024 based on sustained year-over-year performance.

The Wait… What? series grew out of something he kept seeing over and over: good people being handed new responsibilities without being given a playbook. Rob writes the way he leads: practical, honest, and with a little good humor. His goal is simple: make the hard parts of work more human and a lot more doable.

When he is not working on EMS and fire service initiatives, Rob enjoys life in South Carolina with his wife, Sarah, and as a Bonus Dad to his two sons, Noah and Owen. He serves on nonprofit boards and loves teaching kids to fish with the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, a perfect mix of service, the great outdoors, and mentorship. His philosophy is straightforward: serve first, and the rest will follow. These books are one more way he puts that into practice.
